A light blue glow, Cherenkov radiation, is produced when a charged particle moves through space at a higher speed than the speed of light in that environment. And it was this phenomenon that the Department of Nuclear Reactors of the Faculty of Nuclear and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague demonstrated to students on its school reactor VR-1 Vrabec in early November.
