We present student works created under the guidance of RNDr. Stanislava Čečáková and RNDr. Dana Kolářová in the course Descriptive Geometry II at the FA CTU in the 2023/24 school year.
Origami tessellations combine design with geometry and mathematics in practice, they are used as shades, screens or noise barriers. Students work with cheap material that creates variations of colors and shapes just by folding them. For a good result, you need to know the basic geometric principles of covering a plane (tessellation) and be able to work carefully with paper (origami).
The appropriate choice of paper is also important.
Working on a project encourages creativity and brings a different perspective on the world of geometry that surrounds us.
